The Goodnight Memorial Public Library in Franklin, Kentucky, has native plants for its landscaping! The gardens are named in honor of Dr. Lura Rae Steiner, in gratitude for her generosity. Everyone is invited to help maintain and improve these gardens.

Lura Rae Steiner was a botanist and nature lover, and also a devoted and very generous Friend of the Goodnight Memorial Public Library (GMPL) in Franklin, Kentucky, The native-plant landscaping around the building has been named Lura Rae Steiner Memorial Gardens in her honor. They include a Monarch Patch, a woodland grove on the north side of the building, a patriotic garden with red-white-and blue flowers, and native prairie grasses. The gardens are maintained by members of the public, the Franklin-Simpson Garden Club, and the Wild Ones SoKY Chapter. Everyone is welcome to get involved!
