Wild Ones SoKY Chapter gave away 100 willow oak and 100 northern red oak large stock seedlings at the Bowling Green Arbor Day Festival on Saturday, April 9th.
We had a great 1st time participating in the Arbor Day Festival hosted by the city of Bowling Green, KY! There was a steady stream of people happy to take our free large stock oak tree seedlings home to plant. We talked with people in the community about the importance of oak trees, future tree giveaways, raffled off a copy of Doug Tallamy’s ‘Nature’s Best Hope‘, and showed off some blooming spring ephemerals that will be for sale at our Native Plant Sale. Thanks to our Wild Ones SoKY Volunteers who ordered the trees, crafted the displays, and set up and staffed the booth!
