To help spread native plants throughout our region, the Wild Ones Southern Kentucky Chapter often gives away seeds, plants, trees, books, and more!
Remembering our Pets by Creating Native Gardens
A SoKY Wild One, Tosha Clark, came up with a way to honor pets who have died and promote the Wild Ones Mission of “promoting environmentally sound landscaping practices…..and establishment of native plant communities.”
In Tosha’s words:
“The intention of introducing the memorial wildflower seed packets to our clients in bereavement would be to first give our condolences because losing a piece of family is never easy. The flowers grown from the seed packets would provide a way to honor their pet by creating a living sanctuary with beautiful native flowers that benefits their local pollinators.“So whenever the seeds are scattered with their pet’s ashes, planted with their pet, or planted in a separate memorial garden for their pet, they can honor their pet’s life with a garden of native flowers whilst also creating their own nature sanctuary.”
Wild Ones So KY Chapter donates seeds to Scottsville Animal Hospital to be used in creating these Pet Memory Gardens.
